Behavior
- ·Declaring the outline first turns waiting into reading: you can see what is coming, what is being written now, and what has landed.
- ·Each finished section carries its own source count, so depth is legible per claim rather than as one total at the end.
- ·A pending section says so — muted, with an inert mark — instead of rendering an empty confident heading.
- ·Three marks, three meanings: a check for done, a spinner for the section being written, a dot for not yet.
When to use
- ·Long-running research where the shape of the answer is known before its content.
- ·Any deliverable a user will read in pieces rather than all at once.
When not to
- ·For a conversational answer; an outline over three sentences is bureaucracy.
- ·When the sections are not known upfront — a skeleton that keeps changing is worse than none.
